Paulette Lucier, PhD, LMFT
Dr. Lucier is a PhD graduate of Clinical Psychology, with an emphasis in Depth Psychology, from Pacifica Graduate Institute located in Santa Barbara California. Dr. Lucier has been in private practice since 2001, and founded The Little Village, Inc., a professional counseling corporation, in 2007 in Santa Barbara County, California. Dr. Lucier also worked as an adjunct professor at Chapman University. Her teaching assignments included classes in the Undergraduate and Graduate Psychology Program, such as: Youth at Risk, Child and Adolescent Psychopathology and Child Abuse Reporting, Clinical Theories and Techniques of Marriage and Family Therapy, Cognitive Psychology, and History and Systems of Psychology.
Dr. Lucier specializes in Jungian therapy, art and play therapy, personal growth, women's issues, dream work, infant-parent psychotherapy, Sandplay and family therapy. She has conducted research on the emotional significance of touch in early development. Her dissertation research was on the role of touch in early emotional development and the use of infant massage as a psychotherapeutic tool in infant-parent psychotherapy. She has also published on this topic. She enjoys working with families on parenting issues and strengthening family attachment through the power of play and creative expression. Dr. Lucier resides in the Sierra Nevada Mountains with her family, and is currently in private practice in Nevada City, California.
